The application site, known as Mappleborough Woods, spans the administrative boundaries of Redditch Borough Council and Stratford-on-Avon District Council. A single cross boundary application has previously been submitted.

This full planning application is currently being considered under reference numbers 20/01650/FUL and 21/00204/FUL respectively for 236 new homes.

After the submission of the application a number of important comments have been received from Local Members, local residents and Statutory consultees that have resulted in significant improvements being made to the scheme.

The purpose of this webpage is to explain the changes that have been made, and set out how specific issues which affect access to the development have been addressed. The details on this webpage should be read in conjunction with the revised details submitted as part of the application submission.

It is important to note that each land parcel has been promoted for residential development through the Local plan making processes, and that the land within the administrative area of Redditch has been considered by an independent Planning Inspector during the Public Examination of the development plan and found the allocation of the site for housing to be acceptable in all respects. As a result, the site appears as an allocated housing designation within the Redditch Local Plan No. 4. for approximately 205 new homes.

Following the allocation for housing, extensive discussions have taken place with officers of both Council’s about layout and design principles in order to bring forward the allocation in a comprehensive manner in order to deliver much needed new homes for the respective authorities.

For clarity and the avoidance of doubt, no land on this site is proposed to be safeguarded for future development, as was proposed in the originally submitted plans.
