Landscape advice has been sought from ES Landscape Planning

The illustrative layout has been designed to keepĀ  development back from the site boundaries to allow for the retention and improvement of existing boundary planting and visual barrier to minimise the potential impact of the built form and protect the setting of the Listed Building adjacent to the site.

It is proposed that open space and landscaping will be implemented at the southern portion of the site to create perception of separation between the existing built environment.

Open space will also be created along all boundaries to protect the existing hedgerows and trees. Some trees and hedgerows are required for removal as to gain access to the site, however any such arboriculture removed will be replaced with superior planting across the site.

The development will maintain and improve the existing public right of way to provide connection to Hockley Heath.

It is considered that the introduction of a sensitively designed residential scheme into this settlement edge landscape would not give rise to any notable adverse effects. While it is acknowledged that the proposals would result in the loss of an area of improved grassland, this landcover is not considered rare or ecologically valuable, and any greenfield development, no matter the scale, would result in some perceived change.
